Eric Kua graduated from NUS with a bachelors degree in Chemistry in 2003 and took his post-graduate diploma in teaching 2005. He started trading and learning about stock market in early 2007, initially making money easily as it was a bull market. After which a steep correction and a financial crisis taught him that it was not his expertise in trading that earned those profits in his early trades. Subsequently, he took up a trading course spanning 5 months to learn how to trade US options profitably in 2008. Through implementing advanced options strategies, he was able to earn modest profits. Fascinated by what he learnt and by the Lehman Brothers crisis, Eric continued to learn more about trading and eventually decided to become a full-time trader.

Eric joined Phillip Securities in March 2011 and have since spoken at numerous seminars on trading using CFD.
